Second Skin Aftercare Instructions – Asche Tattoo
Second skin adhesive bandages like Saniderm protect a fresh tattoo by locking in helpful plasma while blocking water, dirt, and bacteria.
- For color tattoos, keep the second skin on for 5–7 days
- For line work and black & grey tattoos, keep it on for 3–7 days
While the Bandage is On:
- Fluid buildup: It’s normal for a liquid sac of blood and plasma to pool under the film during the first 24 hours.
- When to remove early: Take the bandage off right away if the seal breaks, if fluid leaks out, or if you notice severe redness, burning, or an allergic reaction around the edges.
- Water exposure: You can shower with the bandage on, but avoid long, hot, or steamy showers that might loosen the adhesive.
How to Remove and Clean:
- Removal technique: Peel the film off slowly in the shower using warm water, pulling gently in the direction of the skin rather than ripping it straight up.
- Washing: Clean the tattoo gently with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free liquid soap.
- Drying: Pat the area completely dry with a clean paper towel before letting it air dry or applying any moisturizer.
Keep it clean, dry, moisturized and out of the sun for at least 4 weeks!
